Terms of Use

The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency does not recommend attaining medical advice using social media, such as Facebook and Twitter. Please speak to a member of your care team if you have a medical concern. Individual circumstances vary and assessment by a healthcare professional is recommended.

By posting on official Saskatchewan Cancer Agency social media accounts you agree to be bound to the following terms of use:

  • The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency social media accounts are monitored Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.  Interaction with any account outside of these hours may not result in a timely response.  We welcome feedback from our followers and we try to join the conversation wherever possible.
  • The privacy and confidentiality of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency staff and patients is paramount.  Any mention of names of patients or staff is strictly prohibited, unless prior written authorization and consent has been obtained.  Posts including names of patients or staff will be immediately removed, where possible, and that individual user may, in the sole discretion of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, be blocked from any further activity on the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s social media accounts. 
  • Users participate at their own risk and take full personal responsibility for their comments, username, and information provided.  We strongly advise all users to avoid including their personal information in posts including phone numbers, email addresses, and date of birth.
  • The appearance of followers and likes of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency accounts does not imply endorsement. Advertisements that appear on or next to Saskatchewan Cancer Agency accounts from third party agencies do not imply endorsement.

Inapproriate Use

Inappropriate use of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s social media accounts is prohibited.  Inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to, posts that, as determined by the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, are unlawful, obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, slanderous, hateful, disruptive, or embarrassing.  The Saskatchewan Cancer Agency reserves the right to remove communications that are inappropriate.

Reporting inappropriate use

Any inappropriate use on any of the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency’s official social media accounts should be promptly reported to the Public Affairs Department by emailing info@saskcancer.ca.
